04 Nov Achie Massey and Matt Noble storm off with the 1st race

British team Archie Massey and Matt Noble won the first race of the International 14 World Championships in perfect skiff conditions at Warnemunde today.

The wind was a moderate 11 to 15 knots from the west, but a choppy and wavy Baltic Sea made it feel stronger as crews struggled to keep their hi-tech, wing-foiled boats at full pace. Massey and Noble held a narrow lead around the first mark of the four-and-a-half-lapper which took not much short of two hours to complete.
