Day 4 – Weymouth town Trophy

04 Nov Day 4 – Weymouth town Trophy

After moderate winds for the past 2 days, the whole fleet were keen to blow away the cobwebs with a 25kt blast across the flat water of Weymouth Harbour in the promised F4-6.  The briefing got underway after a close inspection of the race area and prediction of 16-20kt breeze.  Boats were launched and it soon became evident it was “on the edge sailing”, with only 2 boats hoisting kites and surviving the “30kt” gusts.  With a postponement flying, the race officer waited patiently for more brave souls before realising the conditions were not raceable as the gusts more than dictated where the 14’s were heading and hoisting.  The fleet is ready for another mamouth day tomorrow to catch up on lost sailing.
