Vintage and Classic 14 fleet

There is a highly active Vintage and Classic 14 fleet worldwide with several active boats in the UK along with many other boats still sailing in the US, Australia and Europe. All going to show that 14’s really are Forever!

If you have an older 14 and would like to talk more about your restoration project, the differences between vintage, classic and penultimate rules or just more about the racing circuit please contact Classic@gbr.international14.org.

Joining in with the fun

In the UK, the modern fleet actively support and accommodate the older boats especially at the annual POW event. There are separate prizes for the older fleet and they enjoy some competitive racing in a relaxed spirit, despite some of the significant age differences of boats and crews!

Vintage boats are generally classified as pre 1950 and Classics, pre 1984 when the twin trapezes and asymmetric spinnakers were introduced

Its fascinating to review the significant hull development in the class over the last 100 years
And whether 100 years ago or more recently, 14 sailing provides plenty of photo opportunities!
